A book about an English Channel island that fell to Nazi Germany during World War II has been selected by public vote as this year’s book of choice for Saratoga Reads, as the community-wide reading program launches its sixth year. The winning book is The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows, a fictional story told through a series of letters.
