Ever wondered what it’d be like to travel 7,000 miles over mountainous trail terrain, living in and within the wilderness throughout such an endeavor? We invite Tyler Socash, a native Adirondacker to discuss his year of just such an adventure.
Join Tyler Socash, a native Adirondacker and the Outdoor Skills Coordinator of the ADK Mountain Club, for an evening of stories about his transformation after one year on the Pacific Crest Trail, Te Araroa, and the Appalachian Trail. After 28 years of outdoor recreation inside the Adirondack Park, Socash went beyond the Blue Line to complete a yearlong trek across the Pacific Crest Trail, New Zealand’s Te Araroa, and the heralded Appalachian Trail. It’s a lively tale, 7,000 miles in the making, of mountaintop euphoria, unexpected trail magic, encounters with long-distance legends, heartbreak and renewal. Co-sponsored by the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Saratoga Springs Public Library. No registration required.
