2026 SaratogaREADS! Jr Selection Title - Pax by Sara Pennypacker

Family Story Time incorporates early literacy concepts for all ages — this is a great option for families with multiple children or who want their children to experience a variety of books and activities. This month will feature a fox craft inspired by our SaratogaReads JR. book, Pax. Recommended for children ages 0-5 with a caregiver. Registration is not required, but space is limited based on room capacity.

What to Expect

  • Story Time includes 2-3 books, interspersed with songs, rhymes, movement and props like egg shakers and scarves.
  • There will be a fox craft at the end of the program
  • Caregivers sit with children during Story Time.

Sensory

  • Room is moderately busy.
  • Bright overhead lights.
  • Recorded music, singing, sound from props like egg shakers and rhythm sticks.

Supports

  • Seating is carpet squares on floor, but chairs are available.
  • Participants are welcome to leave early, take a break, and rejoin the Story Time as needed.
