Join us for a viewing of the HBO documentary inspired by our Saratoga Reads! book The Soul of America by Jon Meacham.

Throughout American life, “our better angels” have battled to lead the country forward–and prevailed. This documentary, based on Jon Meacham’s bestseller, illuminates our present-day, fraught political reality by exploring historical challenges including the women’s suffrage movement, the incarceration of Japanese Americans, McCarthyism, and the fight for Civil Rights.

This program is inspired by our 2023 SaratogaREADS! Selection: The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels by John Meacham.
